Bill & Ted Face The Music
From 90s DIY Band Posters to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Reboot
Client: Bill and Ted Face The Music
Services: Marketing
Background
Back in the 90s, I spent countless hours making band posters—DIY, cut-and-paste, Xeroxed chaos filled with wild typography, electric colors, and hand-drawn doodles. It was all about capturing the raw energy of the music scene, mixing punk aesthetics with a touch of absurd humor.
Solution
Fast-forward to the Bill & Ted reboot, and that same spirit came roaring back. Our poster concepts channeled the over-the-top, air-guitar-fueled energy of the franchise, blending neon-soaked nostalgia with modern design techniques. We leaned into a mix of vintage gig flyer vibes and futuristic rock-opera aesthetics—think time-traveling holograms, outrageous typography, and a color palette straight out of a 1989 arcade.
Results & Impact
The result? A visual trip that felt right at home in both the golden age of garage band flyers and the Wyld Stallyns’ most triumphant return. Party on, dudes!
