Clip Labs, a San Diego cannabis startup, sought to shift from traditional industry aesthetics to a brand reflecting its scientific rigor. Their existing identity, influenced by lifestyle publications like High Times, resonated with some but didn’t convey their mission: using top-tier science for premium cannabis through rigorous testing.

Solution

We refined Clip Labs’ brand identity to align with its scientific approach while maintaining market appeal. The revised logo embraced a cleaner, science-forward aesthetic, removing cannabis leaf imagery for a more precise look. Moving beyond traditional iconography, we developed a design system emphasizing quality, research, and precision through modern typography, a structured layout, and a sophisticated color palette.
