Background
Oceania Cruises wanted an engaging way to showcase their fleet’s public spaces while aligning with their newly redesigned website. The goal was to increase web traffic, boost user engagement, and enhance visibility of the onboard experience.
Solution
We designed an interactive Ship Explorer that allows users to locate, explore, and learn about various public spaces across the Oceania fleet. The experience integrates seamlessly with Oceania’s new site design and is featured under the Ship Experience section.
Results & Impact
The Ship Explorer successfully increased user interaction and excitement, driving more traffic to the site while providing an intuitive, immersive way to explore the Oceania experience before setting sail.
The Ship Explorer was designed with a responsive, intuitive UX tailored for both tablet and mobile users. To accommodate a range of digital proficiencies, we implemented a pinch-and-zoom function, allowing users to seamlessly navigate deck plans with familiar touch gestures. For older users less accustomed to mobile interactions, we introduced a joystick-like control, providing an alternative way to explore the ship’s public spaces with simple directional inputs. This dual-navigation approach ensured an inclusive, engaging experience, making it easy for all users to locate, explore, and interact with Oceania’s onboard offerings.
